This 19th century Mexican folk retablo, attributed to Concepcion Avila, the 'bee sting lip painter' represents Nuestra Señora de las Gracias. In retablo art, The Virgin of Grace is often depicted standing upon a globe with arms outstretched, a dazzling ray of light emanating from her fingers and a serpent underfoot, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil. 

Dimensions: 14 inches vertical x 10 inches horizontal.
