A New Chapter

After more than 30 years of buying and selling art and antiques, I’ve decided it’s time for a change. I am closing the retail portion of my business so that I can dedicate myself fully to making art. 18th century Spanish colonial hand carved and lacquered limosnero (alms tray for alms donations) surmounted by an 'anima sola', a lonesome soul awaiting judgement in the flames of purgatory. Verso with black bird and various foliate motifs. Natural pigments derived from cochineal, a small scale insect native to subtropical South America, Mexico and the Southwest United States that lives in stationary clumps on nopal, prickly pear cacti.. Circa 1750
