This 19th century Mexican folk retablo represents San Ysidro Labrador, the patron Saint of Farmers. San Ysidro Labrador (Saint Isidore the Laborer) is invoked for agricultural issues, good weather (before picnics) and prosperous crop. He is usually depicted working the fields together with a diminutive angel and cattle in the foreground.
Attributed to the dyslexic painter, also known as the bulbous head painter.
Dimensions: ratablo measures 14 inches vertical x 10 inches horizontal. Displayed in a contemporary wood frame.
