This rare 19th century Mexican folk retablo represents San Caralimpio, martyred by decapitation.. According to legend, Caralimpio, a bishop in Thessaly, was arrested at the age of 113 for proselytizing the death of Christ. He is the patron saint of those who pray against pestilence as well as contagious airs and hungers.

Dimensions: retablo measures 14 inches x 10 inches. Frame: 18 inches x 14 inches.
