San Leonardo

SKU: 1835

This rare 19th century folk retablo represents San Leonardo, the patron saint of prisoners, captives, and women in labor. He is also considered a patron for professions like coopers, blacksmiths, and farmers, as well as for those against robbery and burglary. The patronage is largely due to legends of his intercession for prisoners and his miraculous work in aiding a queen during childbirth.
